In the "Oh fuck..." category, we have this

We were out this afternoon running errands, and were discussing whether the greenhouses in our town are used in the winter or not, when we came around the corner to find they have been completely flattened by this week's snowfall.

Hope they were insured and can rebuild before the growing season.

It's been a rough week. Too much snow. Two power outages, one for 24 hours, one for 18 hours. The house gets really cold when the power is out because I am waiting for parts for our backup heating source. Bad timing.

It took 3 hours today to make the driveway passable again using the tractor (because the snowblower needs a part too. Bad timing again). Pretty sure I made a mess of the driveway. At least I'll be able to get out tomorrow.

I have to admit that it was pretty for a while though.

Happy New Year folks!

Did you make resolutions? Broken them yet? :-) Just keep this in mind:

The key thing with resolutions is not how to keep them, it's how to revise them once you've failed. - John Oliver

Howdy folks!

I has been a while since I sent out any jokes. And by a while I mean over a year. I just kinda got busy, ya know?

Anyhow, I've been fighting with all the slow we've been getting over the last few days, and I'm sick of it. It can go away now. But noooooo. More keeps coming. I really wish my snow blower wasn't broken. My arms are getting tired of shoveling and clearing off the nets on the chicken runs.

Last night as we were just settling into bed just before midnight there was a good size earthquake not too far from us. Only about 25 km (15 mi) away. Was a 4.8. Shook the heck out of some shelving that was in our living room making it sound bigger than it was.

Didn't seem to bother the cats or dogs though.

You could tell it was an earthquake because I got up and looked at my computer where my Facebook feed was dominated by friends asking if that was an earthquake...
